At Lympne we have rigorous processes and procedures in place which are designed to keep your child safe. These procedures encompass the best quality safeguarding practice in line with (KCSIE 2019 and Working Together to Safeguard Children)to ensure that the relationships we build with our children are strong.
We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us. All school staff are trained in Child Protection, and children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of all types of abuse including: domestic, neglect, physical, sexual, emotional, online, child sexual exploitation, FGM, bullying and cyberbullying, child trafficking, grooming and radicalisation amongst others; and are legally required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
As a school we regularly work with children, families and outside agencies to ensure that the children who attend school are happy, safe and ready to learn. Our team of experienced and sympathetic staff have years of experience working in this field.
We have clear lines of delegated responsibilities:
Designated Safeguard Lead - Headteacher - Steve Owen
Deputy Designated Safeguard Leads - Anna Ladd -DHT and Sara Cave SENCO
Online Safety Leads - Anna Ladd and Sara Cave
The Designated Person/Teacher for Looked After Children (LAC) is Sara Cave - SENCO.
The Child Protection Policy is available here.
